The Cross of Jesus Saves Us From Our Sins
The church has never given a definitive interpretation that the cross of jesus saves us from our sins. How do you get past lessing's gulf? That becomes a major preoccupation of dern theology. And christianity is unavoidably historical religion, not abstract moral claims and philosophical claims. It's in this jesus who really died and rose again that we find our salvation. We can look around and see the extension of the mystical body through space and time.
