Change Your Name, Avoid Discrimination
People with foreign sounding names are treated as foreign. In many cases, that means with prejudice. So logic behind changing your name was the same then as it is now. Change your name, avoid discrimination. But the very least, avoid leading with a name that screams I'm not from here or the humiliation of having your name mispronounced over and over.
