What's the World Worth Today?
Pundits have been arguing about the importance of reducing existential risk. A new paper by Toby Orde and Tom Adam Shevsky tries to explain how this can be done. They use a class of models that was kicked off in 2013, 2014 but it's not clear if they've solved the problem yet. The first step is to look at what happens if we remove some assumptions from our model.
