David John Moore Cornwell, AKA John Le Correis was born in 1931. Why do you pick that snootie French nom de plume? It means the squier. He was a spy when he started writing the book, so he couldn't use his real name. And it just happens to be the third book he wrote and he had written two books that had George Smiley in them.
