Can Python Be Useful in a Machine Learning Environment?
Some of the work you do is taking some big model that you want to train and shipping it off to a farm of computers. You would really, really like to not discover that after like three days of chomping on your numbers that some trivial bug at the end causes the whole thing to fail. And so that feels like a case where you'd actually rather have more checking upfront if you could get it. It's pretty good to be able to detect that kind of failure.
