To imagine something, you have to be alive. And so if I say picture yourself dead, you know, you can't really do it. We imagine because it feels like my thoughts are somehow floating around up there separate from the protein material that holds them. When I die, that kind of floats off the brain and into the ether, whatever the quantum field or whatever it is, and continues on somewhere else. That makes that sort of checks out.
