The Importance of Committing First

I think it's a little bit harder when you haven't had the benefit of looking at thousands and thousands of companies in the past as a VC. I'm happy to commit first and then help them create that strong round. But if the founders are not going for a very good syndicate, I'm unlikely to invest because it tells me something about what the founders are going after.
