Sos, a basic problem for thousands of years is that as the world population grows, we need to be able to grow innovation enough to feed that population. And maybe they're afraid that innovation will eventually be too slow to deal with the growth of the general growth of the planeto. I'm not certain though, that industrial agriculture has led to better and more sustainable, long term food solutions for people. So if you look at, say, the world bank or the i mfs influence on agriculture in africa, it's had way more to do with making soil incompatible with food growth.
