After the emergence of agrarian society, this act of systemically oppressing animals, you start seeing signs of rank. It's not a huge meda cognitive leap to go from humans or godlike creatures above nature to some humans are godlike above other humans. And so you start to conceptualizef abstract things like rank. You can see it very clearly in our fossil record, because in the paleo paleolithic age, when people were buried, they had essentially the same type of graves. So once you take the leap of believing we're we're above nature, you start to believe we're above other humans,. People start according, t act according to that virtual reality.
