Monogamy Increases Trust
Stephanie Coontz: I don't think just because a bunch of marriages end or humans are not naturally monogamous that people shouldn't strive to be monogamous. She says the marriage is often based on this idea of monogamy, so when you go outside of that, you completely break the trust of that pack that you made. "It actually may be like that open communication and trust is the biggest predictor of marriage success," she says.
