By 19 87, students were taking out almost triple the amount of loans as they had the decade before. As many as half of undergraduates were in debt when they graduated. Sally may worked on being efficient and fast. It standardized the student loan process and invested in new technology to computerize the process. At least one bank even helped in stall computers and high schools to make it easier to apply for loans.
