The arabs have no pull in your country. If you made any noises at all in support of the arab position, what would you get out of that? The league of nations mandate itself contained language written by the zionists. It actually instructed the british to consult with the zionist organization on all matters concerning palestine. There was nothing in it about consulting with the arabs, who made up 90 % of the population at one point. A decade and a half later, an official complained that there was no british official whose duty it was to act as intermediary between arab opinion and high ssioner.
