When you are the embodiment of all evil, i think you would say that should be punished. Paul tells us that god will punish those who do not know god and do not obey the gospel of our lord, jesus. It is impossible for god to be holy without also being just wickedness and evil must be punished. The first reason hell exist is it exists for god to righteously punish satan. But there is good news in the gospel. There is a standard. And whe don't hit that standard, we sin.
