When i was starting off, ihad this cassio keyboard that had the built in rhythms. And i would always use those in my songs, and i never thought of it as i'm using a sample. The song is the purpose, in my opinion, not the specific sounds. It's what we achieved in the end, which needs to be musical. If someone feels something hearing your song, then you did it.
