There were similar concerns in the 19 twenties a about america being overwhelmed by, in those days, italians and irish and ar to a certain extent, jews. And that's part why the 19 24 restrictions were oden place, but this one seems to be breeding a good bit more violence. I don't think we should discount the very long history of native violence in this country,. obviously the k k k and so many other histories of lynching and mob violence against immigrants and minorities of various stripes. Its it's wrapped up in a very hard line nationalist pose that bleeds into the main stream. It is new and incredibly concerning for the health of this democracy.
