The president took boxes of work documents with him to marilago, some of which we now know were classified. The national archives is asking for all those documents back, not because they're classified, but because they belong under the presidential records act. So that's kind of what this entire argument is about. They go to a federal magistrate judge in florida to get the search warrant. That's what happens on august eighth. There was a long fight between, apparently the justice department and nara on one side, and donald trump and his lawyers and advisers on the other."
