John Lennon said that fewer and fewer people are going to church in 1960s. Ku Klux Klan tried to take advantage of the quote by burning Beatles records. But there were plenty of 30 year olds, 40 year olds who thought they were amazing. The Beatles had already been sanctified as artists by Leonard Bernstein.
