Yoganidra is a practice where you do indeed lie down, just as if it's a kindergarten nap on your mat. The lying down part of yoganidra was intended to emphasize the being part of meditation and invites the body into a deep state of relaxation. Wheno are in that inbetween state, interesting things happen in your brain. 30 minutes of Yoganidra has been shown to change narrow plasticity in your brain,. It accelerates noro plasticity, it accelerates your learning and other changes. These are all things that i can't really describe further because i don't know enough about the underlying mechanisms. But i know enough to know something powerful is happening
