The Importance of Programming in Engineering

Programming itself is a tool we can utilize if we need to but it isn't the end in of itself and creating maintainable adaptable readable programs for the long term that effectively solve problems. Sometimes I just write code for fun without even caring what value it provides one of my favorite things to do is just to take a piece of code and rewrite it over and over and over again. It's unlikely this provides any direct value to any specific task I want to accomplish but I do it because I enjoy it. We all know how programmers are right. My employer might replace my programming tasks with new technology like AI they aren't going to replace programming as a hobby or a craft for me personally
