The Story of Walt Disney's Alice in Wonderland

Walt Disney tried a bunch of different things, nothing really worked out. He believed that Alice's Wonderland might still provide him with his entree into the cartoon business. So he sent off a letter to Margaret Winkler, the cartoon distributor in New York. On October 15 she writes him a telegram ordering a series of these short movies based on Alice. And it says, we'll pay $1,500 each for each negative for first six.
