If you have multi-threading in your database, then multiple threads will try to write on the same page. So unless you build your structure such that you can have two threads writing the same memory location, which is very hard, you have to acquire something called a mutex. I think they already realized this problem, where this latching happened in the tail. But yeah, it's interesting looking at all these things, right? They actually took full advantage of UUID the first time I see a full taken with Uuids. Now we're going to be careful with this, right?
