Using Single Cell RNA Sequencing, You're Getting an Average Gene Expression
Tark: The old way of gathering genomic information was you would take a sample and there would be many cells in that sample. Tark: By doing single cell RNA sequencing, the intervening step that occurs before the actual sequencing itself is dissociation. So all the cells get dissociated and then using microfluidic systems we can actually get an individual transcriptome for each cell.
