The Event Deck Is a Must Have for Spirit Island
The events teach the game pretty well because they overview specific components. Without the event deck it's very easy to not care about them and I think you miss out on a core tenet of the game. Every single event card has a dahan interaction so you instantly get way more dahan flavor even if sometimes like ineffectual. You're always caring about the dahan which I think thematically is significantly more important than spirit island.
