Farmers have reduced nitrogen emissions by a lot in the last 30 years, by about 65 %. But it hasn't been enough to arrest this decline in the loss of byo diversity. Insect populations are shrinking and certain bird species which were common 40 years ago now rare. If farms begin to close in fairly large numbers, will the remaining farmers be able to make up the difference in food production?
