Introduction
Stuart Fierstein is a professor of biology at Columbia University in New York. His lab studies the sense of smell in animals and he teaches neuroscience, but also teaches ignorance. He came up with this idea when he realized that the way science is usually taught, students might get the impression that pretty much everything has already been discovered. The process of doing science reminds Stuart of an old saying It is very difficult to find a black cat in a dark room, especially when there is no cat Welcome Stuart: There's a lot more humor in science than people imagine.
