The Rose Theater was one of the most important theaters in Elizabethan, England. Owner Henslow kept meticulous records of the theater's business activity. Records show which plays were performed on which dates and how much money each play generated. Thanks to these records, we know that many of Shakespeare's earliest plays were performed at the Rose.
