The Left's Opposition to Free Market Capitalism

In the 2000s, there were accusations made that leaders of the two ruling parties had intervened in the privatization of two out of the three banks. People started to comment on political corruption and power consolidation allegedly associated with ruling parties. Despite the emphasis on free market capitalism, the independence and progressive parties were accused of old boy nepotism having a huge influence on their politics. The angle that the left took was this green left kind of eco-socialism which isn't bad, but it's a unique choice given the context.
