CBDCs and the Future of Privacy
A lot of people think that central banks and governments more generally want to access financial information. I think privacy is a very important serious topic. No, there's no great plan to try to use CBDCs for monitoring people's spending. It's highly uninteresting what each individual is doing. The aggregated data could be interesting but there are already a lot of rules and procedures for how that is gathered or handled.
