The Retributive Justification of Punishment

Sceptics say that the retributive justification is unsound. But there are other justifications for punishment consistent with epticala view. These include a determine sbase approach and consequentialist views. Some of those forward looking justifications suffer from powerful moral objections, such as Jack and jill problem.
