Machine Learning Research - Where Does Private Industry Come From?

There is a trend where people are deciding not to go on to do pch des and instead go into industry. There's plenty of learning to be had in industry without having to go through the process of getting a phd. The idea of using computers to anitate this data is many decades old and has a lot of success. And thing that we're working on is leveraging some of the newer techniques to add new information to the vast treasure trowhat we already have.
