Is It a Romance or an Arcadia?
Elizabeth peeps reads philipside's arcadia after they have a fight. She makes him read out a section on husbands being jealous and the damage this can do. It drives his wives too think about fornication and adultery in a way their wives hadn't previously entertained, puts ideas in their heads. So sounds like she might have been using arcadia as a kind of self hol book for dealing with a difficult husband - he had no comeback to it.
