The Different Levels of Hell in Salary Negotiation

I think salary negotiation is a very emotional topic for everyone. Every good salary negotiator has some kind of horrible origin story that propelled them to becoming better at it. I started out working, working for this woman who had a trust fund and I was in the arts field. She never once gave me a raise. Really. And I never asked for one either because I thought this is normal. The next level would be people who would instinctively ask for a little bit more.
