The Paradox of Technology
Tech companies can get incredible leverage out of the value that they create. Instagram, when it was acquired by Facebook for the now seemingly quaint dollar amount of $1 billion, had 13 employees including the founders. Half of those people had only just joined in the last two or three months and they created a billion dollars of value. That is because of the leverage of technology. And in reality, what they created was a trillion dollars of value, but it was bought for a billion. It doesn't square for me either. I see change happening faster and faster yet.
