The Power of God for Salvation
Paul writes, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. So first, the gospel is received as more than words. It's received as the power of God for salvation. And then we're finally told that they receive it from a place of deep conviction. This isn't just temporary seed that blossoms up for a little bit; this is a full assurance, complete certainty.
