Ta-Nehisi Coontz: I think many people are asking these questions, and i'm curious what your take on this letter is. In a lot of ways, things are the way they used to be. The only difference is how racism shows up to day. It's less overt yet, you know, racism still exists in ways that most white people are oblivious to. And part of that oblivion is because they don't have to know what racism is. We're trying to protect our kids, i think, over protect our kids from realizing that the world is still a violent place.
