The 12 Steps to Staying Sober
Dr. Bob Jones started AA in Philadelphia on July 4th 1935. He met with a man who was tied down in City Hospital and he said to the hospital he's looking for another alcoholic he's got a cure for alcoholism. The newly sober alcoholics there weren't very many of them this was a real slow go but they were meeting there on Wednesdays at eight o'clock in this little group forms only they couldn't sit still for the guidance part. Dr. Bob gave us our first group on Independence Day. But now they didn't take in the 12 steps the book hadn't been written yet. What we were doing in Akron was we were working with four words honesty purity
