There are two rooms in the basement, and one is like an abandoned wreck room that then comes around like chekov's gun at the end of the book. And then there's the creepy plant room, where res ther these big halgon lights shining down on plants. There's another version of style at the basement where dad is just growing mariana themen. But in this book, he's growing weird, jungly plants, one of which seems to be breathing, breathing, moaning prte. Probably another goose bumps book happening in tuson tas breer.
