I think it appeals to a lot of people. It is this odd combination of almost without getting too deep into the politics of it. And as far as I can tell, in most situations, benefit one another. You end up in these really unique, mutually beneficial situations where you can have a thriving business and a thriving open source community that have related but slightly different goals. That's a good place to be.
