Introduction

The National Ecological Observatory Network, or NEON, went into full operation in 2019. The network collects data from 81 terrestrial and freshwater sites across 20 eco-climatic domains throughout the US. Echologists aren't typically limited by access to technology like a particle collider. They're more limited by logistical challenges like paying for field technicians or being able to collect data from more than just a single study site.
