The Inadequacies of the US Criminal Justice System
One of the striking things about this story is just how deep the Nazi involvement in the top branches of the US government during the 1940s was. It's kind of clear and tragic that the criminal justice system is really kind of, I don't know, inadequately equipped to deal with this kind of threat to national security. Part of what's difficult about prosecuting something like this is that we rightfully have protections to do all sorts of terrible things under the US Constitution.
