Bite mark evidence gained national attention in 19 79. One sereal cillor, ted bundy was on trial for murdering two women. Police had focused in on a bite mark left on one of the victims bodies. Forensic dentists testified at the trial including one o levine,. Here's h audio from the trial.

In 1982, forensic dentists examined the teeth of thousands of sailors stationed on an aircraft carrier called the USS Carl Vinson in Newport News, Virginia. It’s been called “the largest dental dragnet likely in U.S. history.”
