No one got hit or killed despite getting in all those gunfights. We were on the cutting edge and we just had the firepower. It wasn't skill that pure luck, dude. I know it's like unfortunately in combat you can do everything right, you can still get killed and you can do all kinds of things wrong and live. That's why we had six month deployments and not a year or whatever because you started feeling like you're invulnerable.
