The five officers involved in this killing have all been sacked and charged with murder. The Memphis police department has also disbanded a 50 person team that the officers who killed Tyree Nichols were members of. There's a sort of awful circularity to this because in 2020 when George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis, there were a lot of protests around the country following that for various reasons which are a bit contentious.
