Where Are Links Today in the Algorithm?

Where are links nowadays in the algorithm? And then maybe i'll dovetail that into a couple of fall up questions for you. Mea again, these are just like reading the tea leaves, typo stuff, in terms of what afiliat markers tend to chat about. I'm deafly not saying any of it's indicative or not indicative, but these are questions i hear constantly from this vantage point.
