Whip a Fly Line Forward
When you whip that fly line behind your head a and what you're doing, is your whipping that that rod back. Then when the line's at full extension, then you pull it forward gently. If you were to whip back and then whip forward before it's fully extended back, i bet you would hear it more often. I don't think so. The reason for that is the way the energy transfer happens behind you,. That back cast has got to be pretty good. It's really hard, with the flex of the rod, to get that snap unless the line is all the way unfurled. Otherwise, what you get when you pull forward prematurely is just a big glob of
