What's Good for Me? Is It Good for the Nation?
For most of human evolutionary history, the way people made decisions was, you know, is it good for me? Is the outcome of this? Younow outcome of this decision? Is it right because it benefits me and mine, my family and my tribe? Ah, and a, those kinds of decisions are just such wild, open ended invitations to confirmation bias and self in. And one of the great and glorious things about judaism and christianity is that it set up some laws and some moral frameworks that prove to be inconvenient in the moment - yariaiata.
