Woven Sir by John Berger

Lerner is in Madrid and waiting for his friend Juan, a sculptor who will be late. A reception is being held to launch the new Venezuelan economy which evidently now depends on Spanish investors. The seclusion here prompts him to remember the clamor of shanty towns in the everlasting racket and prisons. Well, we'll see how that all works.
