The History of the French Telecom Company
Cynthia veba: France telecom originated as a nationalized utility. In 18 89 that their masen telephone network was transferred to the french government and became a state monopoly, which was later supervised by the ministry of post telegraph and telephone. For decades, france lagged many other european countries the us in the number of telephones per 100 people. It wasn't until 19 74, an a modernization programm called telephones for all the french, that the government invested massively in the network. This was a source of national pride, right? I mean, the workers felt good about what they're doing.
