As faith dwindled as the death of god is happening also invention accelerates so it's almost as if once the as the creator dwindles in public consciousness creation lower C accelerates in public action you need that replacement. The new faith was in the machinic mind and this moves Mumford into chapter two agents of mechanization where he talks about how man begins to move away from nature because we no longer use a natural products to create but we just use these re synthesized versions. He says with this recenthesis of nature this you know we're now in control but we don't want to conquest it we want to rethink that they say.
