The Revolutionary Role of Anthropology in the History of Agriculture

In some ways, it feels like in some way you are indeed a revolutionary in a farmer. By the time I went to graduate school, I perhaps wrongly thought that if you wanted to understand imperialism, patriarchy, and the kinds of inequalities that ruled the world, you ought to study something like anthropology. So when in my first year of graduate school, we had to read a lot of dead people who lived a very long time ago and seemed to be quite wrong in what they were saying. But I also, in the end, felt like I found something that I'm never going to get tired of. And there's some advantages too to graduate school within a life that's also about mobilizing
